The Reasons why west horror movies are better than Indonesian.

Entertainment world has grown in this era especially in the movie sector. From children to the old people love watching movie either in tv or cinema. From the several genres, horror or scary movie is the most interesting movie in Indonesia, but some of the spectators think that horror movie from the west countries most interesting than Indonesian horror movie. Although has the same genre, both of them have the differences which makes the spectators interested. We can know where the differences from the election of title, content and effect.

Indonesian horror movies sometimes use a humorous title like “hantu goyang karawang”, “pocong kerasupan kuntilanak”, “kuntilanak keramas” and other weird titles. In contrast with west horror movie from west countries, they use the title which makes the spectators scared before see the movie like “drag me to hell”, the exorcism” or “bloody marry”. It makes most of Indonesian people more interested with west movie. From that explanation, we know that title has influenced people to see the movie.  

Some scary movie shows full of the fear contents. West countries use the blood to expose how spooky it is or use a dark situation to show how serious it is. Different with Indonesian scary movie, some of Indonesian scary movies show humorous and little bit porn. They use the sexy actors, there is no horror content and plot of the movie is not really clear. Most Indonesian people are not understand and do not know where is the Indonesian scary movie exactly. That is why the Indonesian movie is really different with west countries movie.

Although Indonesian movies creator does not have enough tools yet to make real scary effect, but we have proud of them because one of movie that we have known “malam satu suro” become one of the most interesting scary movie in Indonesia until now defeating modern movie. In contrast with west scary movie, they have complete tools far before Indonesian has. They have to use a technology like computer or other technology, to help making the effect is perfect.

There are so many kind movies genre in Indonesia like comedy, action, science fiction, anime and also scary movie. Globalization makes west scary movies are easy to come and make Indonesian spectators interest with them. But the other hand, scary movie still has the loyal spectators. They have to defeat with the other genre if they want to still exist in entertaining world. Although Indonesia is not really good in horror movie, but several horror movie in Indonesia are able to beat the entertaining world development and still grow to be a better horror movie.
